Soul Sister, A Song to Get Obsessed With
You know that feeling when you want to hear a song on repeat indefinitely? That’s how I feel about Train’s Soul Sister, which came out yesterday on their new album Save Me, San Francisco. Here’s the new video. Sorry about the ad, but this baby isn’t even on YouTube yet. Lead singer Pat Monahan is a little old to be rocking the hipster look, but I’m not complaining.
I’m not sure why, I think this bit is so effing sexy:
Out my untrimmed chest
Your lipstick stains on the front lobe of my left side brains
I knew I wouldnt forget you and so I went and let
You blow my mind
Your sweet moving
The smell of you in every single dream I dream
I knew when we collided you’re the one I have decided
Who’s one of my kind
Hey soul sister, ain’t that mr. mister on the radio stereo
The way you move ain’t fair you know
Hey soul sister I dont want to miss a single thing you do
Tonight
Heeey, Heeeeey heeeey!
Just in time I’m so glad you have a one track mind like me
You gave my love direction
A game show love connection we can’t deny
I’m so obsessed my heart is bound to beat right
Out my untrimmed chest
I believe in you
And I’m always gonna wanna blow your mind
Hey soul sister, aint that mr. mister on the radio stereo
The way you move aint fair you know
Hey soul sister I dont want to miss a single thing you do
Tonight
Well you can cut a rug
Watching you’s the only drug I need
Some gangster I’m so thug
You’re the only one I’m dreaming of, you see
I can be myself now finally
In fact there’s nothing I can’t be
I want the world to see you’ll be with me
Hey soul sister, ain’t that mr. mister on the radio stereo
The way you move ain’t fair you know
Hey soul sister I dont want to miss a single thing you do
Tonight
Hey soul sister I dont want to miss a single thing you do
Tonight
Heeey, Heeeeey heeeey!
Tonight
Heeey, Heeeeey heeeey!
Tonight

This was an excellent song and his pants are too tight for anyone male to wear.
Seriously! Those are some skinny, skinny jeans. And like I said, he's a bit “mature” to be trying to pull off this look.
BTW, I watched Broken English recently based on your recommendation, and LOVED it. I am now obsessed with Melvil Poupaud. I think I'm going to work it into a post. Thanks!
That movie made me regret the time when I totally could have had a “relationship” with a chain smoking Frenchman. I use to have him say stupid things to me in french. Everything sounds good in french. I really want to find him and go to Paris now. I also just bought Train's new album… That song will be going on repeat tomorrow.
Yes, everything does sound good in French! Italian's not so bad either. And a British accent…Well you get the idea, haha. I'm glad you like Soul Sister – I've figured out that it takes exactly three plays to get from home to the gym. I really am obsessed.
thank you–i had never really listened to train but i really love this song. he is one sexy thang–from the voice to the face! (the pants-ouch!)
ooo the 'meet virginia' train-that was the only thing i'd ever heard.
Deb, it is so AWESOME that you commented, yay, haha! Hey everybody, this is one of my high school friends! She was GORGEOUS then and she's gorgeous now. And still sooooo much fun. A California girl through and through.
Yeah, it's been awhile since Train put out an album. I've haven't been a fan in the past, but I do love this song.

I love Train and Pat – but why is Pat so SKINNY? He’s so skinny that his head looks too big for his body. If he put on some weight he’d be so very hot.
@Nancy
Yes, those are some pretty tight jeans on some skinny legs! I like Train too, though, and I’m still not sick of this song!
