Saturday, July 14th, @ 3:00pm @ The Hilton Garden Inn – 7699 W. Spectrum Street, Boise ID 83709.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to: Bronco Athletic Association, Football Scholarship Fund, in the memory of Thomas V. Munson, 1910 University Drive, Boise ID 83725.

He was from Boise? (Excuse my ignorance.) I work a lot to the southwest of Boise. Owyhee, Mountain City, Elko…sadly not this time of year. It’s a good place to be happy.

It’s been a long week since I got the news, so I may be off base here (Susan, feel free to delete this comment if you want – no problem at all)

Is there some irony in Tom, an escapee from a mental hospital, being commemorated on Bastille Day? (the day in the French revolution when they stormed the major fortress-prison in Paris – their 4th of July in effect – La Fête Nationale ).

I’ll be thinking of him

@Just1X

Haha, Tom would love that! He’d immediately respond with interesting tidbits about the Revolution, Madame Defarge and the sex life of the Sun King.

Thinking of Tom today. His family and all who mourn him are in my prayers.

I found some words that describe Uncle Tom’s life very well:

“Success” by Ralph Waldo Emerson

To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty;
to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

I think we can say Thomas Munson was one of the most successful men we have ever known. Flights of angels sing you to your rest, Uncle Tom.
